One Small Voice. A Lot of Big Ideas. Let Freedom Ring!

Harry Reid, the Obstructionist. Why Republicans Must Gain Control of the Senate.

Everyone is focused on the presidential election. But Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, who has sole control over what legislation can come to the Senate floor for debate, has pledged to continue his partisan politics that he has perfected to an art.(Remember, Reid refused to let the Senate even debate Barack Obama’s budget plan, much less the House plan).

From “On Friday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) rejected a claim made by Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney that he would preside over a more bipartisan administration than President Barack Obama. Reid said that it is “laughable” that the Democratic majority in the Senate would work with Romney to enact his “severely conservative agenda.”

What’s conservative or laughable about wanting the United States to be energy independent, thus lowering energy costs for all Americans?

What’s conservative or laughable about wanting to make the United States more business-friendly, thus allowing more jobs to be created?

What’s conservative or laughable about seeing the need to revamp social security before the system goes bankrupt and millions of Americans working today have NO security in their retirement?

What’s conservative or laughable about actually passing a budget? (Something Harry Reid has refused to let happen during his entire tenure as Senate Majority leader).

Unfortunately, Nevada re-elected Reid to represent them and he’s got four more years before he faces re-election. And Democrats in the Senate seem content to let Reid represent their party and control Senate procedures. The only way to wrest power from Harry Reid is to wrest power from the Democratic arm of the Senate. And Americans can do that tomorrow.

If the Democrats keep the majority in the Senate, Harry Reid has promised he will NOT work with Mitt Romney.

If you support Mitt Romney and his agenda for America and there is a Senate race in your state, VOTE FOR THE REPUBICAN CANDIDATE. VOTE TO END THE PARTISANSHIP IN THE SENATE AND SAY GOODBYE TO HARRY REID AS SENATE MAJORITY LEADER.

You bring to light a critical issue in this election. Without control of the Senate and Congress Romney is going to have a tough time getting any thing done and the Dems will use that destroy his credibility and set themselves up for the 2016 Elections.

Harry Reid is the poster child for what’s wrong with Washington. I find myself wondering how many dead bodies he must know about for his fellow Dems in the Senate to elect him to that position of power.

Harry Reid could care less about America. He is only interested in jis own power and promoting the Democratic Party’s progressive agenda. He is kept in power by the casino mafia in las Vegas and the votes of illegal immigrants. You are so very right, Freedom. We must gain control of the Senate. It is critical if there is to be any chance of saving America from the debt and monetary crisis that looms over us.

The casion mafia–so that’s where the dead bodies are. Thanks for the insight, COF.

IF Obama wins the election, AND we DON’T take the senate away from Harry Reid, the possibility of Obama’s impeachment is moot.
IF Romney wins the election, AND we TAKE the senate away from Harry Reid, the lame duck session will be very interesting indeed, and Obama will suffer some degree of investigation,..unless Romney pardons him.
Valery Jarrett has made a statement, (per Glenn Beck), that if we lose, there will be hell to pay.
    Last time I looked, this wasn’t Russia,…yet.

    Well done Freedom.

      Thanks, AFVET.
Speaking of Jarett, I saw the longer quote attributed to her at another blog and it was scathing indeed. I wanted to share it but I couldn’t find the orignial source. (And God knows, we conservative bloggers are forever getting accused of making stuff up—but the funny thing is, we don’t have to). I’ll check out Beck’s site. He always has his fact-checkers in place.

I doubt whether Beck would have broadcast it if it wasn’t true.
She is his chief adviser,…go figure.
Hateful anti American doesn’t even touch it.

I don’t want to be too crude here, but the way government is right now is something akin to adolescent “Koodies” .It was a fear of catching something somewhere between a rumor and a very bad cold. One could not easily identify nor cured easily. It has become the creeping crud of our day, Progressivism.
We must take control of the Senate to implement the cure of the body politic.

Both Harry Reid and Nan Pelosi are the carriers of the hideous perversion in Washington. Pelosi is very near to the end and so is Reid. We must not let this happen again.

Nice analogy, Noonien. Unfortunately, early symptoms of progressivism are not easily disenable to the untrained eye. That’s how they get ‘ya!
      Thanks for stopping by!

Freedom, In order to combat progressives we need to turn the tables around and give them an “Alice through the Looking Glass” view and outlook. It must be hammered home at a sacrificial cost. The cost could entail vigorous mailings and emails to get the message across to those who haven’t listened before. For the life I have left, I remain committed to this endeavor. Samiam60 and I will try our best to continue on despite our minimal loss this nite of the re-election.

I hail your attitude, Noonien. But I’m afraid this loss was not “minimal”. The fact that America voted to stay status quo is frightening, discouraging and horrible. Because they don’t understand it will not remain status quo. It will get worse. I do hope they enjoy their free phones and their feeling of charitable superiority while they can…because neither will last very long.

Minimal is a view of a larger image in general. There is more work to be done. My battle has not won a war, but the spirit forces me to improvise on other fronts where there is more than enough room to make a difference. Remember a Star Trek Voyager episode when Capt. Jainway had to fight insurgents, the Maquis, I will not give up I will not comply.

I’d be curious to know what brand of boteltd water they’re drinking and how much it cost us I’m going out on a limb & guessing it didn’t come from Wal-Mart.No budget in 1000 days, yet there they are seated at a white-clothed dinner table. What are they waiting for, their lessers to serve up a fabulous meal?Isn’t it law that Congress pass a budget? State and local governments are required by law to do so. Why hasn’t someone filed a lawsuit? Congress is not doing its job, and yet, Obama continues to spend money at exponential & unsustainable rates. They are not our rulers they are ELECTED public servants who are supposed to be representing us. Where’s the outrage??? Go immediately to your window, open it, stick your head out and yell, I’m mad as hell & I’m not going to take it anymore! Now bring your head back in, close the window and ask yourself, Are you better off now than you were 4 trillion dollars ago?

By the way, how is that plan working out?

“I doubt whether Beck would have broadcast it if it wasn’t true.”

Yeah, salt of the Earth honest, that guy.

Brian,I think you grant Harry Reid the benefit of thboeudt when you claim that he took a pro-life position”due to his Mormon faith.”Back when Reid first entered politics taking apro-life stand was expedient for a Democrat. In practice, he found it amazingly useful indeceiving the electorate about his underlyingliberalism. “He’s a pro-life Mormon…!” lead readers to conclude he was much more conservativethat the facts indicated. His actions of filibustering pro-life judicialnominees indicates that he is not really pro-life.Taking the pro-life position is the safest “conservative” position for liberal seeking coverto take. The courts make such a stance academic, andHarry Reid is making sure that the courts never dochange!Whether, or not, he is a Mormon Christian is purelya matter of speculation. Politicians proclaimingtheir piety is SOP for politicians. Many suchproclaimations are insincere. Why give him the benefit of the doubt?Dave from Reno,I use to call in to your show frequently.
