Crazy Man Sets Cat on Fire. Tries to Kill Woman with a Knife at Bed, Bath & Beyond
Horror at Bed, Bath & Beyond as shopper is stabbed in chest a DOZEN times by stranger as she pushed her baby son through store in stroller
- Kerri Dalton walking through store when rushed with no warning by man with a knife
- Both lungs are punctured but she remains in critical but stable condition
- Infant unharmed in incident
- Alleged attacker is Tyrik Haynes, 19, who already faces charges for setting a cat on fire on Christmas Eve
This horrible attack happened last Thursday in New Jersey. Maybe if you live in Jersey, you saw this story. But it didn’t make the national news. I found it in a British newspaper.
The attacker, is obviously VERY DISTURBED and DANGEROUS and it begs the question, if he was charged with animal cruelty for setting a cat on fire just three weeks ago–why wasn’t someone–a family member, at least–keeping an eye on this guy?
But BIGGER QUESTIONS ARISE AROUND THE LACK OF MEDIA COVERAGE.
- If the attacker had used a gun instead of a knife would it have been all over the media?
- Does it draw too much attention to the way our culture deals (or rather doesn’t deal) with mentally unstable people–and would therefore delute the current firestorm around guns?
- Is it because the attack was a crazy Black man on a White woman with a baby?
Those are the questions that are rolling around in my mind. What do you think?

And just think of the media storm if he had used a bayonet on an ‘assault rifle’ whatever that is this week!
Indeed. I don’t think think they make ARs or AKs with bayonets–but now that you mention it, could be big, kind of “in your face” sellers.
What puzzles me is why the media so uniformly pushes the Socialist Democrat agenda. It makes one suspect that the conspiracy theories are not altogether bogus.
Tom, those of us who try to dig deeper for facts understand that the mainstream media has indeed earned their reputation as “fly-by” media. If it were not for tenacious web site reporters, bloggers, talk radio and Fox News stories such as Benghazi and Fast & Furious would have been no more than blips for all the attention the liberal media gave them. It is true that gritty, investigative reporting is all but dead at major newspapers and networks. Whether all of them are knowingly pushing a socialst agenda ( and of course, many are, like MSNBC, CBS) or whether they are simply lazy remains to be seen.
I don’t think the media folks have a preplanned conspiracy or anything. I do think much of the bias in how they present news, and most importantly what they choose to cover or ignore, is knoswingly however. They are so convinced of their own rightness, and superiority, that they don’t care about the bias anymore.

Yeah, on a side note, this story made me think twice about how I shop. I have always been on high-alert in parkling lots, esp. at night. Now I realize you must be on high alert at all times.
News like this is always ignored by the Liberal News Agencies and as always its up to Conservative Bloggers to bring it to the attention of the American People. Great job Freedom.
The focus of the cause of violence in our society should be centered upon mental health issues and not upon weapons. But you know what? That goes against the free-wheeling, “you do your thing & I’ll do mine” mentality of our culture. It’s so much easier for the media and the politicians to focus on an inantimate object, like a gun and pretend that will solve what is obviously a much bigger, much messier issue.
Yes. I keep waiting for liberal states (like NJ) to wake up regarding liberal bias. I think they got a glimmer of it with Sandy (the storm).
Do you really think so? The NJ legislature put through a bill that said repair work with federal dollars had to be performed by union contractors. (Don’t know if christie signed it yet or vetoed) Doesn’t sound like they’ve the backs of their residents or the rest of us tax payers.
How Tragic and also strange it wasn’t in a local paper… they report everything in these parts. Maybe it was on the evening news.
